Abstract:

Muslim sufis and mystics have left behind words and statments which have been controversial and problematic; Because at least in appearance, those was considered contrary to religion and human understanding. Roozbehan Baqli Shirazi, by writing the book “Sharh-e Shatahiat”, has tried to interpret and justify those Sufi words that were unconventional. In this paper, while dealing with the meaning and history of "Shatah", the “Shatah”es of Abolhossein Mozayyan and Abolghasem Nasrabadi - Two of the Sufis in the book - have been examined because of the importance of the content. The content of the “Shatah”es of them includes discussions on commitment, nurture, and penitence, which are among the most challenging topics in the field of mysticism and Sufism. These cases have been analyzed in the measurement of Quran and Hadiths by the library method. And the degree of closeness and distance of these beliefs has been determined by the manners of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH). As a result, their intense conflict became apparent.
