Analyzing problems and individual barriers of mental health from Islam perspective
According to the verses of the Qur'an and the infallibles’ narrations, Allah has created all human beings with a healthy spirit and soul “By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it” (Shams/7). But due to various mundane causes and factors will become defective. As we try to prevent and overcome material needs and problem, we should pay attention to psychological problems and try to prevent or treat them. The purpose of this study is to investigate and identify the problems and individual barriers of mental health from Islam perspective and present theoretical and practical solutions in order to remove these barriers and problems. The research method is descriptive-analytical and it is organized by referring to the Qur'an and the infallibles’ narrations. Some of the barriers and problems according to this study are as following: Selfishness and egotism, suspicion, prejudice, self-esteem, laziness and gluttony, rogue instincts, hatred, blindness, cruelty of heart, attachment to the world, jealousy, lusts, insincerity, duplicity, hypocrisy. According to Islam, removing these barriers and problems (according to verse 9 of Shams Surah) “whose work on his ego, can become a good person” leads to better soul and mental health
