Abstract:
Vernacular community centers, ancient heritage in Hamadan city One of the most successful aspects of any collective space is its sustainability. The signs of the stability of each space, the stability and durability along with the dynamism of that space over different generations. The neighborhood-centered system in the historic city of Hamedan represents dynamic neighborhoods over the years in the city. The historic city of Hamedan is composed of neighborhood of 50 communities. Most of these communities having wooded squares and markets and public spaces surrounding the squares are named in local idiom of Hamadan as "Chaman". Chaman space is open, enclosed and wooded square of the core of community in the best location to access where urban node of several major passages connecting, center of association with the best position of the communication node, social interactions of the neighborhood residents is. What is the main structure used in the center of the ancient neighborhoods of Hamedan? The main question of this research is with the assumption that "The Chaman spaces have been the major architecture pattern in the old neighborhood center of Hamadan." The research strategy is a historical- interpretation based on library studies with the production of a birth certificate and field studies by providing a physical, environmental, cultural and economic identification of the grass space. In the urban context of the Islamic period, the texture of the city of Hamedan has had the strongest and most vibrant center of the neighborhoods, which has led to the integration of the neighborhood system in the city of Hamedan. The lawn space is designed and tailored to all human existential dimensions and is a comprehensive supplier of essential needs of the people. Therefore, the lawn structure, in addition to the greenery, has cultural-religious spaces and commercial spaces, is responsive to the needs of the local, religious, and cultural needs of the locals. The mosque and bath were a constituent element.
