Prediction of Marital Burnout based on Types of Love Schemas and Marital Goal Orientations
The aim of this study was to predict marital burnout based on different types of love schemas and marital goal orientations. The study was conducted with a correlational method. The study population included all people referred to counseling centers for marital problemsin Hamadan city. Using conveniencesampling, 210 subjects were selected. Data were collected using Piens marital burnout questionnaire, love schemas inventory, Kansas marital Goals Orientation questionnaire. Results showed negativecorrelations were between marital burnout with marital goals orientation and secure love schema and positive correlations were observed between marital burnout and with Skittish, fickle and Casual love schemas (p < .05). Results showed that there were negativecorrelations between marital goals orientation and skittish, fickle and casual love schemas and positive associations were observed between marital goals orientation with secure love schemas (P <.05). The results of this study suggested that love schemas and the marital goals orientation affected the married life of the couple. Therefore, the application of the findings could be useful for the prevention and treatment of marital burnout
