Properties and Characteristics of Porous Media and Types of Aquifers as well as Description of Pollutants in Aquifers

The indiscriminate increase in population in the last three decades, the limitation of surface water resources and the excessive exploitation of underground aquifers have caused irreparable damages to the aquifers in terms of quantity and quality. In order to prevent the continuation of quantitative and qualitative drops, exploitation management and conservation of groundwater should be considered as a principle in the country's planning. In this chapter, first, we seek to determine the importance of the subject and determine the objectives of groundwater study, then the basic questions of this research are discussed and finally a brief look at the overall structure of this research has been discussed.
