Resilience capital for crime prevention of crime and reduction of social damages

Abstract:

The increasing complexity of societies and stressful situations may be backgrounds for abnormal behaviors and social damages. These factors are inseparable parts of life. Therefore, persons can be invincible in front of these conditions by creating and strengthening their mental capitals. The resilience is one of these capabilitie. The purpose of present research is review of definition of this concept, its identification and related components. The term resilience includes flexibility concept and return to the original state after dealing with adverse conditions. Resiliency has been identified as a bumper. It does not remove risk factors; but, it helps peoples to be faced effectively with them. History of resilience investigated. This research is a review and done by using libraries procedure. The factors of resilience include risk factors, protective agent, vulnerability mechanism and invulnerability. The characteristics of resilient persons investigated. The resilience is used for persons who are exposed in risk, but does not have disorder. Confrontation with risk is a necessary condition for vulnerability. However, it is not a sufficient condition. The resilience has been identified as a prophylactic agent in some social damages such as addiction, delinquency and anti-social behavior.
