The effect of social responsibility on social trust in the banking system
The issue of bankruptcy of financial and credit institutions in recent years in Iran has made the issue of social trust an important issue for the Iranian banking system. This article tries to investigate the impact of social responsibility on social trust in the banking system as one of the mechanisms to strengthen public trust in the banking system. The main question that is raised in this regard is what effect has social responsibility had on social trust in the banking system and what is its possible impact? The present article is a descriptive-analytical study and examines the question using the library method. The results indicate that banks can improve the welfare and economic conditions of society by providing opportunities for growth in production and employment. When additional services are offered to customers beyond the level of current services, it creates a sense of attention in the bank's customer and leads to an increase in his level of trust in the bank. This can even be achieved with flexibility in service delivery. Banks can protect their name and reputation by strengthening their public relations and sensitivity to current events and trends in society. Participation in social responsibility activities is a way for banks to compensate for the damage done to the environment and society, thereby strengthening their social trust.
