The Political Affair in the view of Shantal Mouffe in Understanding the Yellow Jacket Movement

Today, the political affair is no longer limited to power and state, but through revolutions and movements of the modern age, it has spread among the lower classes of the society and is no longer the monopoly of the official power; and the new relations are formed in the political community. In this respect this article aims to examine the movement of the Yellow Vests from Shantal Mouffe's perspective, and trys to provide an answer to the questions of how the mentioned movement can be analysed from this perspective and how it's interpretation differs from that of the other theorists. According to the Mouffe's interpretation, political affair is the site of conflicts between societies , and politics is a set of behaviours that drive society. In this view, social conflicts are not based solely on class antagonism, and identity discourses provide the shaping of the movements.
