Response to Wahhabi Skepticism about Permission to Cursing

Jurisprudential permission to curse or not is one of the most important and dubious issues that has been discussed throughout the history of Islam. Even, how much blood has been shed under this pretext and many people have been persecuted for blasphemy and cursing others. The present study has investigated the issue of curses in Islam and the Shiite religion (from the perspective of the Holy Quran and narrations) using a descriptive-analytical method and a library study. As a result, cursing is permissible for some sinners, but swearing is not allowed under any circumstances. It is forbidden according to Sharia because swearing and cursing pits Muslims against each other and causes bloodshed between them. It is also necessary for Muslims to respect each other and to exercise restraint, because the enemies of Islam seek to divide them. The Shiites have no right to curse the companions of the Prophet (PBUH) on the pretext that disavowal is necessary for others, and the Sunnis should not follow this disgusting method by claiming that the Shiites are heretics.
