Discourse of women's rights demands during elections and comparing it with Article 21 of the Constitution Case study of domestic news agencies and news sites
Women's rights demands in various fields cause activists in this field, sometimes consciously or unconsciously, to take a stand and ultimately polarize themselves and others, and use the pronouns "us" and "them" when speaking. Accordingly, the present study identifies the polarizations in the discourse of activists in the field of Iranian women's rights demands. Since the expression of demands reaches its peak during the elections, a period of 4 years(2016-2017), which includes two rounds of presidential and parliamentary elections, was selected in domestic news agencies and news sites. This research is of exploratory type and in terms of methodology, it is of practical and qualitative methods that "Theon Wendike's critical discourse analysis method" was used to analyze the data. The results of the research showed that the activists in this field, in order to express their demands, use the "polarization" technique in 5 axes: "public space", "Islamic Consultative Assembly", "government", "political parties" and "Guardian Council". The conformity of the results with Article 21 of the Constitution also indicates that the greatest demands are around paragraph 1 of this principle, which is "creating favorable conditions for the development of a woman's personality and the restoration of her material and spiritual rights."
