Designing and Selecting Appropriate Strategies to Reduce Migration from Rural To Urban Areas- A case study of Shahrood city
Migration and immigration is the issue which has been addressed and dealt with by policy makers at different levels, and in various countries. It has also a great impact on social and economic issues. Therefore, reviewing the effective factors and important studies on the subject, the researchers interviewed professionals, and people who are directly faced with the problem. The target population was over 166 villages of Shahrood, especially the ones capable in terms of emigration. More than 30 villages were selected as samples. This study is a descriptive-survey research (surveys, polls) and aims at designing strategies to reduce rural-to-urban migration. Reviewing internal and external factor matrices, the SWOT matrix, and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix strategy were selected as the appropriate planning strategies. offensive strategy selected in the area, in the order of priority, were: opening seasonal markets; effective educational advertising; creating environment for flourishing regional talents; attracting investors towards the dynamics of the tourism industry; and granting low-interest loans and facilities in the form of cooperative institutions toward self-actualization of the selected villages.
