Qualitative study shows pre-effect divorce in dancing families

Official marriage and divorce statistics of the country show that marriage has decreased every year compared to the previous year and the divorce rate has increased. Therefore, in recent years, the issue of identifying the antecedents of divorce has been considered. The aim of this study was to identify the antecedents affecting divorce in military families.

This research is applied in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of type of research. Participating population are male and female military divorces in 1399 who were selected by purposive sampling and snowball sampling. After interviewing 20 people, people's responses were saturated. Data collection was performed using semi-structured interviews, field notes and observation. To assess the validity and reliability of qualitative data, continuous and long-term engagement, continuous observation, progressive mentality and the steering committee were used to evaluate and implement the interview plan. Data analysis was performed using thematic analysis method based on Brown and Clark (2006) model. In this way, data were identified from the text of each interview. Then the initial codes were extracted and by examining the codes, the format of the themes was identified and the codes related to each theme were placed under it. In the next step, the themes were defined and named and finally the report was compiled.

In the analysis stages, a total of 108 initial codes, 6 sub-themes and 3 main themes were obtained. Findings were identified in the form of three main themes: premarital antecedents, intramuscular antecedents, and postmarital antecedents. Pre-marital antecedents in the form of lack of effective interpersonal characteristics and lack of initial competence and pre-marital antecedents in the form of main family problems and lack of support networks and post-marital antecedents in the form of lack of effective intra-marital characteristics and non-acceptance of spouse employment conditions Were.

Divorce in military families is the result of lack of effective intra-individual and inter-marital characteristics and problems of the couple's families. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the preconditions affecting divorce in order to implement preventive programs and intervene in the divorce crisis.
