Abstract:

Three basic classes of implication operators are investigated, including: implication based on S-norms, implications based on residuated functions of T-norms, and Q-implications. We explain the logical basis of these three classes of implications. We then turn to what mathematical-intuitive properties the implication operators should (or better yet) have. We then explore what criteria are important in choosing the appropriate operator in practice.
