Examination the Effect of Decent Selection of Managers on their Service Performance Based on Gold Smith Model (Case Study of Gilan Province Police Command in 1395)
Meritocracy is the most important issues for improving quality and quantity of any organization.One of the most important effects of meritocracy on organization is improving the service performance of its staff.Therefore, the aim of this study is examining the meritocracy on police force manager’s performance based on Goldsmith Model. The main hypothesis of this study is that meritocracy has effect on manager’s service performance. The statistical population included first and second layers leaders and managers of Gilan Province Police Command. In this research, random sampling method is used. Data collection instrument was a questionnaire in which thedimensions of meritocracy are made by researcher and aspects of service performance is taken from Goldsmith in Standard form. The validity of research is based on face validity and the reliability was assessed by Cronbach's Alpha Test. For analyzing data, the SPSS software was used in the descriptive part and LISREL in the analysis part. The results indicate that meritocracy has positive and significant impacts on all aspects of service performance including: ability, clarity of role, organizational support, motivation, feedback, reliability and compatibility, then the research model is approved. Therefore, decent selection of managersplays an effective role in theservice performance of employees and meritocracy should be considered as a fundamental principle in appointing managers to improving employee performance and organization.
