The Compliance of Teacher Training University Curriculum with the Professional Qualifications Required from High School Teachers
The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of compliance of the nine-elements of the university curriculum with professional qualifications required by the secondary teachers in Ahvaz (Iran) and explaining the reasons for potential adaptation or lack of conformity. The method of research was mixed and the population in the quantitative phase included all managers, teachers and students of Teacher Training University and secondary school teachers in Ahvaz. In the quantitative phase, the sample under study was selected based on the Morgan table and using a random quota sampling method 269 individuals were selected. In the qualitative phase, the sampling method was purposeful. According the results, there were few professional qualifications between elements of goals, content, Teaching - learning activities and learning groups of the Teacher Training University curriculum with professional qualifications of the teachers; but there were no necessary adaptations between time elements, training materials, training space, and evaluation methods. In the qualitative phase, the results of quantitative phase the reasons for the compliance or non-compliance of each of the nine elements of the curriculum of Teacher Training University with professional qualifications of the teachers were explained.
