Investigating the Relationship between Creativity and Emotional Intelligence with Motivational Strategies and Academic Performance of Students in Nain
The purpose of study was to investigate the relationship between creativity and emotional intelligence, motivational strategies and academic performance of male and female high school students in the city of Nain in the academic year 2017-2018. The research method was correlational. The statistical population of the study included 535 male and female high school students in Nain. Using cluster sampling method and based on Krejcie and Morgan table, a sample of 225 students (130 girls and 95 boys) were selected. Research instruments included the Torrance Creativity Test (1974), Schering Siberia Emotional Intelligence (Short Form) (1995), Pintrich and DeGroot Learning Motivation Strategies Scale (1990), and students' academic performance scores based on the first and continuous annual grade point average. Data were analyzed by SPSS22 software using Pearson correlation and multivariate regression. The results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between creativity and motivational strategies and students' academic performance. There is also a significant positive relationship between the variables of emotional intelligence and the variables of motivational strategies and students' academic performance. The results showed that creativity and emotional intelligence have a significant role in predicting the variables of motivation strategies and academic performance of high school students. Overall, the findings showed the relationship between creativity and emotional intelligence with students' motivational strategies and academic performance.
