Assembly of Constitutional Experts and Identity Discourse; Originality of school identity and validity of national identity

The constitution is the cornerstone of the political system and the basis for defining the boundaries of the values ​​and political and identity boundaries of any nation. The main question of the article is what image of the pillars of Iranian national identity has been dominant in the Assembly of Constitutional Experts? And by using the method of discourse analysis and using the documents of the final parliament of the constitution and the memoirs of its representatives, we have tried to show the image of hegemony of the elements of Iranian national identity in the assembly of constitutional experts. The research method is interpretive and documentary, and based on this, we have used the documents of the final review of the constitution, the detailed discussions of the final review of the parliament and the memoirs of the representatives of this period. The idea (hypothesis) of the article is that although Islam is the central signifier of the identity discourse of the constitution, but inevitably the customary elements of Iranian identity such as national language, symbols, diversity and different layers of Iranian culture have been considered and a school narrative has been presented. In this narrative, "solidarity" is the main basis of national solidarity. Nationalism takes precedence over political nationalism, as the Islamic Republic commits itself to defending the homeland of the Islamic Ummah. Citizenship, which is one of the characteristics of a modern government, other than the Supreme Leader, other managers and rulers must have the attribute of Iranian-origin. The Assembly of Basic Experts has tried to show the natural and historical relationship of Persian language with local languages ​​in the principle of fifteen constitutions.
