Assessing the needs of mothers with children with burns in the pediatric ward and providing solutions to address them: A field study
Mothers as primary caregivers have a unique and fundamental role in providing physical care as well as psychosocial improvement of their children. First, their physical and psychological needs must be identified and addressed so that they can be cared for Take a more active role in caring for their sick children. Therefore, the aim of this study was to identify the care needs of mothers with children with burns in the pediatric ward of Motahhari Hospital and to provide solutions to address them.
A field study was conducted in two stages, the first stage was to identify the needs of mothers with children with burns and the second stage was to confirm the existence of these needs and provide solutions to address them.
A total of 30 descriptive codes were identified at the end of the interviews. In the data reduction phase, 11 categories and finally 4 main themes about the needs of mothers with children with disability due to burns were obtained. The focus of the researcher's activities was in the planning phase using the Delphi technique. The results of the second phase included proposed solutions for information, support, economic and family-related needs.
In order to provide family-centered care, in addition to meeting the needs of the child as the main client in the health care system, mothers' concerns should be addressed and their needs should be well met.
