A Survey of People's Attitudes Towards Crime Prevention (Case Study: Tonekabon County)
Prevention can be considered as one of the key strategies in the field of social control, which includes a set of direct and indirect strategies aimed at creating offensive and deterrent situations. The purpose of this study is to investigate people's attitudes towards crime prevention. The survey method (descriptive correlations) and the statistical population of the study were those over 16 years of age living in Tonekabon city who were estimated to be 166132 persons who according to the Cochran formula have a sample size of 365 people who have been selected by simple random method. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect data using the research components. According to the results (between the fight against micro-crime in society, guided patrols, participation with the people, participation with other institutions and organizations, attention to the social and economic situation of the neighborhood, focusing on crime points, reducing crime opportunities, Reducing the markets for buying and selling property) with crime prevention at a significant level of less than 0.05 and with 95% confidence, there is a meaningful relationship. Therefore, it can be stated that law enforcement officers should use public and human rights organizations to prevent crime, and to focus on scattered locations in different crime areas and to try to reduce the cost of buying and selling stolen property.
