Military Power in Realization of the New Islamic Civilization

The new Islamic civilization, in addition to responding to the natural needs of human beings, also guides their spiritual dimension towards perfection and happiness; this desirable structure, which is rooted in Islamic humanizing programs, not only does not negate the concrete and hardware dimension of civilization, but also directs it and saves it from the downfalls that human beings have suffered. This study aims to explain the status of military power components in three dimensions of software, hardware and intelligence. This descriptive-analytical research was an applied in purpose; the method of data collection was field and library; the findings analyzed using expert method and the statistical population according to experts was 110 people. The results show that military power in the hard dimension has 5 components: ground, air, sea, missile and UAV. The average of hard power is evaluated well. Soft dimension has 4 components: cognitive, media, psychological and intelligence. The average of soft power is evaluated weak. In the smart dimension, it has 3 components: economic, hybrid and cyber. The average of intelligent power is evaluated normal. The software component has the greatest effect on achieving a new Islamic civilization, but unfortunately the current status of this component in the armed forces has been poorly assessed. Therefore, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have no problem in achieving a new Islamic civilization in the hard power component, but they must make the greatest effort first in the soft power component and then in the smart power component.
