Impact of Commanders' Emotional Display Strategies on Reducing Staff Boredom in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province Police Command
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of commanders 'emotional display strategies on reducing job boredom of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari police officers as the main assets of the organization due to the importance of commanders' and staff relations in the hierarchical structure.
The research was conducted using a survey method and a questionnaire. The statistical population included all employees of the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province police command, 327 of whom were selected as a sample using the Cochran's formula. In order to collect information, standard questionnaires of emotional strategies of Dindorf managers (2005) with a reliability coefficient of 0.75 and Maslash occupational boredom questionnaire (1985) with a reliability coefficient of 0.84 were used. Pearson and linear regression tests were also used to analyze the data.
The findings showed that there is an inverse relationship between the two variables of managers' emotional display strategies and job boredom, employees' emotional fatigue and employees' metamorphosis. Also, a positive and significant relationship was observed between emotional display strategies and personal performance of employees. The study of regression of independent variable components showed that deep, real and superficial strategies in total are able to predict 26.4% of employee job boredom, respectively.
Considering that the emergence of emotional display strategies, especially the deep and real display of managers, can reduce employee job boredom; Also, with the increase of deep and real emotional strategies of managers, the amount of employee metamorphosis decreases; It is suggested that command staff pay special attention to emotional display variables to reduce job boredom.
