Abstract:
In the Neighborhood-Based Model of Iranian Urban Planning, neighborhoods have provided suitable conduits for women's social interactions, quick access to religious cultural spaces, responsive to safe and dynamic health. One of the most successful examples of neighborhood-based towns is a native pattern called "Chaman" in the historical city neighborhoods of Hamadan that has transformed the city into a city- garden. The purpose of the research is to discover and revitalize the physical structure of the Chaman pattern as an effective model to enhance the collective spirit of the population. The research method is a case study of fifty indigenous neighborhoods of Hamadan with historical interpretive approach and then field survey of ten original neighborhoods with observational approach and based on birth certificate. Trapezoids are the structural form of these spheres, and their elongation is reported north to south or with a slight rotation around this axis. The area of the trapezoidal space is mainly between 1000 to 1280 meters with a longitudinal elongation of 42 to 65 meters with an average width of 19 to 25 meters and a height of 3 to 7 meters with peripheral views. Peripheral views of brick and stone have also been reported. The number of trees and shrubs in this indigenous outdoor area is predominantly between 20 and 30 species, with the prevalence of berries and sparrows among the trees and pine among the shrubs. The neighborhood's water supply system was predominantly with aqueducts in larger neighborhoods and springs in smaller neighborhoods. The number of business units ranged from 9 to 23 for the manufacturing workshop and the trade exchange according to the size of the neighborhood. The neighborhood-centered pattern in the city, of which Hamadan lawns are a successful example, can be a comprehensive solution to women's environmental, social, cultural and economic needs.
