The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of social skills training on increasing social adjustment in working children in Tehran province.
The present study was a quasi-experimental study and the design used was pre-test and post-test with a control group. The statistical population included all working children aged 8 to 13 years in Tehran province in 1400, of which 30 were tested by available sampling in two groups of 30 and both groups were given short form questionnaires. Compatibility Weinberger and Schwartz (1990) responded in two stages: pre-test and post-test. The results were analyzed using univariate analysis of covariance.
The results showed that the value of F for the difference between the mean scores of social adjustment in experimental and control groups was 58.94 and the significance level of this value with degrees of freedom 1 and 27 was less than 0.05. Therefore, the differences of the mean scores of social adaptation between the experimental and control groups was significant and with 95% confidence, it can be said that social skills have a significant effect on increasing social adaptation.
According to the results, it can be said that social skills training has a significant effect on increasing social adaptation in working children.
