The Impact of Performance Assessment on High Levels of Learning, Motivation, in Mathematics Lesson and Presentation of a Practical Model (Case Study: Tertiary Secondary School Girls in Bushehr)
The present study is a semi-experimental study with two controls and experimental groups and a pretest-posttest design. The statistical population includes all 10th grade female students in the math lesson of the public schools of Bushehr; there were as many as 1178 students in the statistical yearbook of 2017-2018. Given the high number of the statistical population, as many as 280 students from one district of Bushehr were selected as the statistical population. The sampling method multistage clustered. After holding the entrance exam, as many as 80 students being at the same level in math (for achieving the homogeneity of the statistical sample) were randomly selected as the research samples. The data collection tools of the present study include two researchers-made questionnaires of high levels of learning and motivation in math lesson as well as holding pretest and posttest of math both before and after implementing functional assessment. Analysis of covariance was used for analyzing the collected data. The results of the present study indicate that implementing functional assessment has been effective on high levels of learning and motivation in the math lesson among 10th grade female students of public schools in Bushehr.
