The effect of social networks (virtual space) on the social vitality of teachers in Tehran in the year (2019)

Abstract:

Cheerfulness is one of the basic creations in a person's life and plays an important role in the psychological and social life of all members of society, including teachers. The present study is an applied research aimed at identifying the relationship between the amount and type of use of mass media and its effect on the level of social vitality of teachers in Tehran. This research is a quantitative type and its method is survey. The sample size of 382 married teachers is multi-stage cluster sampling method. The technique of data collection of researcher-made questionnaire and data analysis through 22spss software and the study of structural relationships between research variables in the form of structural equation model of software (LISREL 8.5) have been used. Validity of content validity and reliability of Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the two main variables was above 0.7. According to many experts in the social sciences and communication sciences, the mass media in recent years have introduced a new function of themselves (beyond their original functions), which is to create culture. According to the findings, the use of mass media in Tehran by teachers has been moderate and most of their use is cognitive and informational. Also, the level of social vitality is almost high. The results show that there is a significant correlation between cyberspace and the level of social vitality among teachers. The intensity of this correlation is moderate and its direction is reversed. That is, with increasing use of cyberspace, social vitality decreases and communication and solidarity with family members increase according to the results suggested that developing a charter of joy and happiness for teachers and students to be a priority in the programs of radio and television and cultural institutions, education of the country.
