The effect of teaching positive thinking skills in accordance with the teachings of Imam Ali (AS) on mental health and symptoms of social anxiety in Bushehr women
The purpose of this study was the effect of teaching positive thinking skills in accordance with the teachings of Imam Ali (AS) on mental health and symptoms of social anxiety in Bushehr women in the second half of 2021. The method of the present study was quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test design with a control group and the statistical population of the present study was women referring to psychology clinics in Bushehr. The sample size of the study was 30 people who had the highest problems in the field of mental health and symptoms of social anxiety and were willing to cooperate voluntarily and were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. After performing the pre-test, the experimental group was exposed to positive thinking skills for 12 sessions of 90 minutes (one session per week) in accordance with the teachings of Imam Ali (AS) taken from the doctoral dissertation of Farashbandi (1399). The instruments of the present study were Hill and Goldberg (1972) and Jarabak (1968) Mental Health Questionnaire. The results showed that the training of positive thinking skills in accordance with the teachings of Imam Ali (AS) reduced physical symptoms, social dysfunction, anxiety and depression of the experimental group in comparison with the control group. Also, teaching positive thinking skills in accordance with the teachings of Imam Ali (AS) reduced the symptoms of social anxiety in the women of the experimental group compared to the control group.
