Identifying events affecting the subject trend of future research in knowledge and information science: Delphi study
The present study seeks to identify and analyze the most important events and possible events affecting the thematic process of future research in the field of information science.
The present study was conducted using resource review and Delphi methods. The research community is professors of knowledge and information science at the international and Iranian levels with study backgrounds in the field of the future of this field.
The research findings showed that 78 future events will affect the thematic process of knowledge and information science research. These events come in 6 general dimensions including teaching and learning events; Scientific and research; Innovative and technological; Social and cultural; Political and legal; And economic and employment were categorized. Among the future events, from the experts' point of view, innovative and technological events will have the greatest impact on changing the course of future research topics.
Information and communication technology is a dynamic field that has rapidly expanded its influence in most scientific fields, including knowledge and information science. It is obvious that developments due to information and communication technologies will play an important role in the content of future research in this field.
