Analysis of the relationship between intellectual discourse and historical identity in the Qajar era

Abstract:

The purpose of the present research is to present a Social- Historical Explanationbased on Foucault discourse and genealogy's viewpoint on the relationship between intellectual discourse and historical identity formation in the Qajar period. The Qajar period was one of the longest kingdoms in Iran after Islam. The proximity of this era of Iranian history to the current reality of Iranian society doubles its importance.This methodology is a historical qualitative research based on a critical analytical approach. In this era, the discursive formation of the identity of modernity in Iran is based The transformation of the bearers of the idea of modernity (intellectuals) took place. Findings of the research, while analyzing the role and position of the intellectual, highlights the effect of this discourse on the historical identity of Iran.
