Criminal Investigation Police Strategies in the Crime Detection Process
Constant changes in the environment and the emergence of new ways of achieving organizational goals, have created the need for organizations that have a dynamic structure with strong competitors and challenges, to think about developing strategies appropriate to the environment. The present study seeks to determine the current position of the CID police according to the internal and external environment and to determine and formulate strategies of the CID police in the criminalization process.
The present study is applied in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of method. Participants in this study were senior and middle managers from all over the country and had experience in police-related knowledge. Sixteen of them were purposefully selected and their opinions were collected by forming two focus groups. Participants are asked to determine the score and rank for the identified factors; Factors that scored lower were eliminated. SWOT analysis technique was also used to intersect internal and external factors and extract strategies. The validity of the research was assessed and confirmed by presenting the results to relevant experts and the opinions of the focus groups.
Fourteen strategies were obtained by intersecting strengths and weaknesses with threats and opportunities. Findings of the study show that the intelligence police are mild in a competitive position according to experts and need to use their strengths to avoid threats.
Based on the research findings, strength-threat strategies include "reforming laws through interaction with the legislative and judicial system, creating special structures for investigating cybercrime, using information analysis to deal with organized and gang crime, and completing effect banks." Fingerprints are more important among policing strategies in the crime detection process.
