Data analysis and modeling of causes of road accidents in adverse weather conditions: Tehran-Qazvin axis (old road)

The purpose of this article is to model the positive causes of all causes of road accidents using data analysis of traffic police reports.

In order to achieve the purpose of the research, were used: first the study of texts and data analysis of Rahvar police reports in the range of 1390-1399 and about accidents that occurred in one of the unfavorable climatic conditions, namely, rain, frost, snow and blizzard and fog, then, Interviews were also conducted with traffic accident officers on the Tehran-Qazvin axis (old road) (7 people) and, of course, a number of drivers (who had a road accident on this route) (10 people).

The findings showed that the most important causes of road accidents in the study axis were lack of attention to the front and violation of safe speed and also 52% of accidents in rainy conditions, 45% in foggy conditions, about 3% It has been in icy conditions and less than 1% in snow and blizzards. Then, the positive reasons for the occurrence of all causes of accidents are considered by experts and drivers.

Finally, two mental models of the relationship between the causes of road accidents in adverse weather conditions are presented and a link model of how and how much the factors are related to each other is presented.
