Social networks and the future of political participation
The emergence of new communication technologies throughout the international world has been influential in all political, economic, social and cultural fields. With the emergence of social networks and its development in human life, these networks today are very effective in the participatory dimension, so that in some cases we see participation and in some cases we see non-participation in various dimensions of a society. But what this article seeks to examine in particular is the future of these networks and political participation; in other words, the author's view is a kind of futurist study of political participation and the factor involved, such as social networks;
Our research method in this paper is article is descriptive-analytical and the data collection method is based on the library method.
The findings indicate that five scenarios including propaganda and cognitive scenario building, identity building, virtual party formation, protest planning, networking and coalition are the most important factors in the future of social networks and political participation. Futurism can be imagined, each of which will have a positive function (increase participation) and negative (decrease participation).
What is more visible in these scenarios are opportunities than threats; Because governments certainly need participation in order to survive, so paying attention to social media should be considered in the long run, because not paying attention to it can be a serious threat to a government (non-participation) and It will strengthen the government (more participation).-----------------------------
