Operational Safety in Building Automation

Building automation and control systems help building citizens in convenience, low costs, and compatibility with other equipments. With the merging of communication systems and controlling technologies in building automation and control systems, failure in equipments and controllers leads to operational safety problems. In this paper, first of all, complete study about operational safety in automation systems, regarding probable risks, has been presented. Afterwards, a ladder algorithm to ensure about the function of building automation system has been introduced. This algorithm consists a model to design the equipments related to safety and some mechanisms to enhance the reliability of communications.
