Effect of NANO Materials on Durability of r self compact mortar containing Rice Skin Ash
Due to the distinct behavior of NANO-structured materials have shown, are considered by industry section. As well as concrete industry, according to its needs both in terms of strength and durability is one of the important users of NANO structured materials. Properties, behavior and performance of concrete depend on NANO structured materials in concrete or cement that produce integration. Hence, concrete and mortar and cement paste studies in NANO-scale is so important to development of new building materials and their application.
The objective of this study is to reduce the amount of cement in high strength mortars by using NANO-particles as a partial replacement of cement. In addition in order to reduce the of amount of cement and to achieve a better workability, 25% rice husk ash was replaced in cement in all samples In this study, the properties of SCMs made by using of 1,2,3,4 and 5% of SiO2,Fe2O3 and CuO NANO-particles are investigated. Workability of the fresh mortar determined using mini V-funnel and mini slump flow tests and the hardened properties determined by compressive and flexural strength tests at 3,7,28 and 90 days, and durability of mortar determined using Water Absorption test, Electrical Resistivity and Rapid Chloride Permeability Test (RCPT) in the mortar. The results of experiments show that the appropriate performance of the mentioned NANO particles is especially due to SiO2 and CuO NANO particles for improvement of workability, mechanical properties and durability of self compacting mortars.
