Abstract:

Mahdaviat is a genuine doctrine that dates back to the time of the Messenger of God (PBUH). This statement is supported by narrations belonging to the beginning of Islam and reports contained in books such as the book of Salim bin Qais Hilali. In the meantime, some Imami jurists, Sunni writers and a number of contemporary orientalists have doubted the validity of Salim ibn Qays Hilali's reports and the proof of Mahdaviat through them, and called the results of their research "the real absence of Salim ibn Qays". "Forgery of a book with his name by Aban ibn Abi Ayash" and "unreliability of existing copies" have been mentioned.
In this article, the author has tried to study the character of Salim bin Qais and his book with the method of integrated research method, descriptive-analytical data processing method and using the resources of Shiite and Sunni libraries, and the results that include " Present the authenticity of a person named Salim ibn Qais, the authenticity of the book of Salim ibn Qais, and the credentials left by him about Imam Mahdi (as).
