Abstract:

The planet is currently witnessing the effects of global warming, including Arctic sea ice, rising sea levels, more severe forest fires, and animal migration patterns. Understanding how the planet is changing and how fast it is changing is crucial to preparing humans and adapting to a warmer world. In this study, the trend of temperature anomaly changes and the year of temperature record in Iran have been investigated and compared with the temperature anomalies of the Earth, land hemisphere (north), water hemisphere (south), North Pole, and the South Pole. For this purpose, reanalysis data related to 2 m surface temperature anomalies obtained from the European Medium Term Prediction Center (ECMWF) and processed by the Climate Change Center of the University of Maine were used. The results showed that most temperature anomalies occurred at the North Pole. After the North Pole, the temperature anomaly in Iran is more than the anomaly of the hemisphere and more than twice the anomaly of the Earth. Although the highest temperature record of the year is different in different parts. The anomalous changes in Iran since 2016 have occurred with less intensity in parallel with the anomalous changes in the North Pole, and this trend will continue in the future. The highest temperature anomaly in Iran in 2010 was about 2 degrees Celsius. In 2021, unlike in other parts of the world, in Iran, the temperature anomaly record was broken and reached approximately 2.12 degrees Celsius. Iran's temperature anomaly record in 2021 is almost three times the temperature recorded in 2016 for the entire planet and more than 2 times the temperature recorded for the northern hemisphere. High-temperature anomalies are a warning to all managers and planners at all levels and a serious threat to the country's natural resources, reserves, and water consumption, emphasizing the necessary measures to adapt and reduce its destructive effects.
