The Effectiveness of reading stories by mothers based on book therapy on social adjustment and shyness of elementary school students
The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of reading stories by mothers based on book therapy on social adjustment and shyness in elementary school children. The current semi-experimental research and the statistical population studied include 7 to 10-year-old children from kindergartens in Ahvaz, 40 of whom were selected using Morgan's table. After random sampling, people were divided into two experimental and control groups (20 people in the control group and 20 people in the experimental group). In terms of the purpose, the present research is a part of applied research, which was conducted as semiexperimental research with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. For measures, the adjustment of high school students, Sinha and Singh (1993) and the Samui Shyness Questionnaire (2003) were used. In the following, an analysis of covariance was used to analyze the data. The research results showed that reading stories by mothers based on book therapy on social adaptation and shyness in children increases adaptation and is effective. Considering the effectiveness of reading stories by mothers based on book therapy on social adjustment and shyness in children, these therapeutic methods can be used along with other methods.
