Abstract:

Instagram space, regardless of the ability to create extensive communication, is a harmful space for people who do not benefit from proper and adequate training in the use of cyberspace. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of integrated Trans-diagnostic therapy on sensation seeking and fear of negative evaluation of female adolescents injured by Instagram space. The research design was quasi-experimental and in the framework of pre-test, post-test and follow-up designs with the control group. The statistical population was 20 female students aged 15 to 18 years old in Tehran in 1399-1400.These students’ scores of sensation seeking and fear of negative evaluation were higher than the cut-off point. Sampling method was voluntary and purposeful and participants were assigned equally into experimental and control groups. The results of data analysis showed that the integrated Trans-diagnostic intervention made significant changes in sensation seeking as well as fear of negative evaluation between the experimental and control groups. There was also a significant difference on sensation seeking subscales between the experimental and control groups (empiricism, adventure, boredom, avoidance of inhibition). The findings represented that the integrated Trans-diagnostic therapy approach has been able to reduce the sensation seeking and fear of negative evaluation in female adolescents involved in Instagram space, and consequently the tendency to seek likes and approval in these people may decrease.
