Study of media literacy in youth of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province and its role in quality of life
Today, the use of media has become an integral part of most human life, and therefore media literacy is a new topic in the use of technology and media. The aim of this study was to investigate the status of media literacy in the youth of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province and its role in quality of life. The research method was descriptive cross-sectional. The sample size included 429 young people in the age range of 19 to 35 years in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province who were selected by stratified method. Demographic, media literacy and quality of life questionnaires were used to collect data. Data were analyzed at two levels of descriptive (frequency, mean, standard deviation, correlation) and inferential (independent t-test and analysis of variance). The results showed that 2.5% of young people were very low literacy, 15.8% were poor, 30% were below average, 35.4% were above average, 12.8% were high and 2.9% were very high. Also, the results of correlation analysis showed that there is a significant positive relationship between media literacy and quality of life (P <0.05). These findings were discussed.
