Abstract:
According to international reports, carbon dioxide emissions in Iran are increasing It is moving to the top ten countries in carbon dioxide emissions, so research in this area is needed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the carbon dioxide emission function and the variables affecting this function using Markov switching method with two regimes for the period 1975-2018. This study is the first study of carbon dioxide emission function in Iran. In this study, two regimes, including the high oscillation regime of carbon dioxide emission and the low oscillation regime of carbon dioxide emission were investigated. According to the results, the hypothesis of Kuznets curve in Iran was confirmed by inverse U-shape. According to the results of this study, Iran is at the beginning of the descending part of the Kuznets curve. In carbon dioxide emission function, one-stop carbon dioxide emission logarithm, variable energy logarithm, real gross domestic product logarithm, real gross domestic product logarithm, 0.53%, 0.55%, 0.46% and -0/07, respectively has a significant effect on carbon dioxide emissions. This research will help policymakers to adopt more effective policies.
