Analysis of the Geographical distribution of theft and its relationship with the location of urban CCTV cameras (case study: Zanjan city)

Smart monitoring systems such as closed-circuit television (CCTV) and smartphones play an important role in urban management and security. The purpose of this article is to analyze the spatial distribution of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and their relationship and performance in reducing urban crime. The research method in this article is descriptive-analytical .we used to analyze the general Q-Q Geostatistics, central mean, standard deviation ellipses and graphical models based on GIS environment. Findings of the present study indicated that the standard deviation ellipse is complete and the central average of robbery crimes over the last 7 years has shifted from the central tissue to the outskirts of Zanjan areas. The general Q-Q method shows that there is a significant relationship between the distribution of CCTV cameras and the distribution of theft crimes in Zanjan. In other words, with the increase of CCTV cameras, the number of theft crimes decreases and vice versa, with the decrease of CCTV cameras, the number of theft crimes increases. Cornell's findings also confirm that the Geography of crimes in Zanjan has a specific orientation, and that criminals understand the dangers and refrain from committing crimes within the scope of surveillance and surveillance of cameras. In areas which cameras surveillance is lower or empty distributions of crimes are increased In other words, the central areas of crimes in 2011 have been reduced in 2020 and the Northwest area of the city is affected by insecurity and increased crime due to lack of cameras.
