Abstract:
Background and objectives

The concept of professional ethics and its relationship with organizational culture is one of the key axes. The results of various researches show that each of the professional ethics factors of employees of various organizations can be influenced by various factors, including organizational culture. The purpose of this research is a comparative study to identify the relationship between organizational culture and police professional ethics.

Methodology

in terms of its objectives this study is of an applied research type and in terms of its implementation it is considered a qualitative study, and in terms of data analysis it is a comparative study, which was conducted using existing documents and researches. The research problem is a comparative study of the effect of organizational culture on professional ethics in the field of research, i.e. the police of two countries, the United States and Iran.

Findings

The cultural characteristics of Iranian and American police had 4, 5, and 23 similarities and 29, 12, and 18 differences in the individual, social, and organizational dimensions, respectively. After that, the moral components of the police of the two countries were extracted and analyzed in 50 cases, and the results of this section showed that these two police have 37 differences and 13 similarities.

Results

Iranian and American police showed the least similarity in the cultural characteristics of the individual dimension. This difference showed itself in the significant difference in the professional ethics of the two police officers with 37 differences. The results confirm that differences in organizational culture, especially in the individual dimension, can lead to differences in police professional ethics.
