Analytical Analysis of the Dimensions of the Value System of Religious Education of the First Graders of High School Students and Explaining its Relationship with Religious Education and Risky Behaviors
The identity of people is formed by relying on values, and the human value system is the basis for the formation of his social identity. From a psychological and social point of view, the value system is a factor for personality orientation and is the criterion for selection and decision making. This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the value system of the first graders of high school and its relationship with religious education and risky behaviors in order to correct it.
This research was conducted using a mixed-method exploratory research design that employed the focus group method in the qualitative part and the Pearson correlation test and multiple regressions in the quantitative part.
The findings indicate that 42% of boys and 36% of girls care about the common values of society, and 34% of boys and 56% of girls prefer their personal and individual values over society and group values.
Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the hierarchies of the value system of the better boys include: economic, political, theoretical (scientific) and religious values. In the boys' group, only artistic values were lower than the average scores, while in the girls' group, theoretical (scientific) values and religious values were lower than the average scores. The analysis of the relationship between the variables also showed that the value system has a direct and significant relationship with religious education, whose correlation coefficient was equal to +0.32.
