Spatial-temporal analysis of the theft of second homes in the coastal city of Chalous

 Second homes are an integral and dynamic part of tourism that are purchased for leisure or investment. These homes have conditions in which the crime of theft is more likely to occur and can lead to the formation of criminal opportunities and goals. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the spatial pattern of burglary of second homes in the coastal city of Chalous.

 The research is applied and in terms of study method, descriptive-analytical. Data and information required for this research were collected in two ways: library and survey. The statistical population is 329 cases of theft from second homes, which is in full. Statistical models such as nearest neighbor index, kernel density index and Moran analysis, mean center test and standard deviation ellipse have been used to identify and understand the spatial pattern of theft and distribution of crimes.

 The results of Moran index and kernel density test show that burglary of second homes in the coastal city of Chalous in the period 1393-2014 follows a cluster and random pattern. The spatial center of the robbery of the second houses is located on Takhti Boulevard in the center of the coastal city of Chalous and is in a northwest to southeast direction. In terms of time, robberies from 12 to 9 in the morning with 70 registered thefts have the highest rate. In terms of seasonality, summer has the highest rate with 108 thefts. The results showed that the spatial pattern of theft from second homes in the coastal city of Chalous is clustered and concentrated that the center of this theft is located in the center of the coastal city of Chalous. Also, in terms of time, burglary of second homes in the coastal city of Chalous occurs between morning and noon, and is also more common in summer than in other seasons.
