Recognizing the identity of Islamic architecture by looking at the architecture of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul
Islamic architecture is one of the most famous building styles in the world and is one of the rare and beautiful manifestations of Islamic art that has unique characteristics and the Islamic architecture of mosques can be an example of this beautiful and lasting art. The research method of this research is the analytical descriptive method. In this article, the influence of architectural art and specifically its Islamic style on the architecture of mosques, which is effective in the identity and culture of the society, is investigated. The wisdom of Islamic architecture led to the institutionalization of the tradition that works He turned the architecture of this era into eternal and beautiful souvenirs. What is known today as the Islamic architecture of Iran is the continuation of a tradition that has been able, relying on spiritual teachings, to manifest the pure Islamic wisdom in the material body of the visible world with the language of code and symbols, and with the influence of the Islamic vision and spirit, a kind of "unity" to induce in these works to the viewer. In the meantime, a case study on the Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul (Blue Mosque) with cascading domes, precise symmetry and consecutive arches, minarets and blue tiles inside the mosque, which is considered the pinnacle of Ottoman architecture, has been carried out in this research. Sultan Ahmed is known as the most impressive historical mosque in Turkey and the last great mosque of the classical period, which is inspired by the special and unique design of this mosque and in addition to the elements of traditional Islamic architecture, it is also inspired by the design of Byzantine buildings such as Hagia Sophia.
