The Interpretive-Structural Modeling of University Social Responsibility Components to Promote Social Capital: The Case Study of Shahid Beheshti University
University social responsibility has been the subject of interest in recent years. As fulfilling social responsibility promotes social capital, this study set out to extract the structural-interpretive modeling and analyze the influence levels of various component s of university social responsibilities in this regard. In addition, it determined the level of the extracted criteria and provided an analysis of the degree of dependence of system variables. This research was a mixed methods study that had qualitative and quantitative phases. In the first step, thematic analysis was used to obtain the component s of university social responsibilities, and basic information and social responsibility components were obtained from interviews with experts in this field. In the next step, in order to investigate the relationship among these concepts and their leveling, the structural-interpretive modeling method was used. The statistical population was comprised of the faculty members of Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, out of which the sample was obtained using purposive sampling. According to research findings, 13 components were identified in relation to university social responsibility, which were then categorized into 4 levels. The results showed that transparency, scientific policy making, governance system, university management, and enculturation were the most effective components.
