Designing a talent management model in the Ministry of Sports and Youth using causal cognitive mapping

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to design a talent management model in the Ministry of Sports and Youth using causal cognitive mapping. This research approach is qualitative and uses analytical methods, and from data collection aspect it is survey and applied from conclusions aspect. At the framework of this survey, cognitive mapping method is used to map individual perceptions about causes of the talent management process. The statistical population of the study was talented and specialized managers in the field of talent management among which 12 people were purposefully selected as the sample. To analyze the data, the method of analyzing causal cognitive maps including complexity index analysis, territory analysis, relative centrality analysis, outcome analysis as well as the common cognitive map analysis were used. Finally, a talent management model consisting of 33 concepts and 44 arrows in the cognitive map was designed and developed for the Ministry of Sports and Youth. Based on the analysis of the consequences, managers of the Ministry of Sports and Youth in the long-term approach to talent management should pay attention to long term routes; Because, at the beginning of these routes, there are the most root concepts.
