Peer relationships and parental supervision as predictors of high-risk behaviors among female students of the second year of high school, Birjand city
Risky behaviors refer to behaviors that increase the possibility of negative and destructive physical, psychological, and social outcomes for a person; Because adolescence is a critical period of life, social, economic and family factors play an important role in the behavioral bias of these people. Recognizing wrong behavior patterns and avoiding these behaviors in teenagers will lead to providing a healthy life and gaining health and empowerment of this group; Therefore, in this research, parental supervision and relationships with peers have been investigated as predictors of high-risk behaviors. This research is on 258 female students of the second year of high school in Birjand city, which was conducted by simple random and correlational method, as well as Mohammadizadeh's high-risk behavior questionnaires (IARS), Singer's parental supervision and Hudson's peer relations (IPR), in order to SPSS software was also used to analyze the results. According to the results obtained from the regression, it can be said that parental supervision is a predictor of the tendency towards the opposite sex, smoking and relationships, or sexual behavior and relationships with peers predict the tendency towards drugs and psychotropic substances, the tendency towards the opposite sex and smoking. Also, according to the Pearson correlation coefficient, an overlap between the variables of high-risk behaviors has been seen. It should be noted here that the obtained results are true only for the girls of Birjand city. In the gender group of boys or in areas with different cultures, it is possible to find contradictory results with the results of the present study.
