Sociological Explanation of the Impact of Ethnic Components on Citizens' Political Participation (Case Study: Sample Population of Bushehr Province)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of ethnic components on the political participation of citizens of Bushehr province. In this research, the components of ethnocentrism include ethnic preference, ethnic orientation and ethnocentrism, which are applied in the framework of the goal and descriptive-survey in terms of type of analysis. The statistical population of the study is all citizens of Bushehr province. According to the 2016 census, their number is estimated at 1163400 people. The sample size of the study was 384 using Cochran's formula. Also, a researcher-made questionnaire was administered using multi-stage and random cluster sampling method. Findings show that the effect of ethnic variables including ethnic preference, ethnic orientation and ethnocentrism on the political participation of citizens of Bushehr province by 25.3%, 26.8%, 14.5% and the effect of the main research variable namely ethnicity on Political participation is 36.8%. This research has been conducted in line with the importance of the border provinces of the country in terms of political participation.
