Evaluating the appropriateness of scientific-specialized competitions and its effect on the empowerment and behavioral intentions of physical education teachers
The present study has evaluated the specialized scientific competitions of physical education teachers and its effect on the empowerment and behavioral intentions of teachers participating in these competitions. This research is a descriptive- correlational research that has been done by survey and field method. The population and statistical sample was equal and included all teachers participating in the 28th scientific-specialized competition of physical education teachers across the country (n=187). The instrument used is a researchermade questionnaire, the reliability of which was confirmed using Cronbach's alpha (r=0.85). Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis with the help of spss20 software. We also used structural equation modeling with AMOS16 software to check the research model. The results of Pearson's correlation coefficient showed that the highest correlation between comprehensive and complete assessment variables with test suitability (sig=0.001, r=0.78) and the weakest correlation between media coverage variables and administrative reward and support (sig=0.001, r=0.30) was observed. Finally, by using structural equation modeling, the direct effect of test fit on behavioral intentions was obtained as 0.45. Also, empowerment as an independent variable explains 0.23 of the variance of behavioral intentions. Finally, the suitability of the test explains 61% (directly and indirectly) of changes in behavioral intentions. Although the results of this research showed that specialized scientific competitions have a good fit from the point of view of the participating teachers, but the authorities should provide more suitable rewards (financial and non-financial) for more and better participation of teachers and the continuation of this participation in the following years.
