The Network of Social Relations of Couples and Sense of Security (with Emphasis on the Role of the Mediating Variable in Function of Couples' Relationships) Among the Citizens of Tehran1
Since social responsibility in adolescence is closely related to individual and social well-being, it is necessary to identify the factors affecting it in order to take intervention measures. The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of interdependent self-construal and social trust in the relationship between family cohesion with social responsibility.
The research method was descriptive and correlational. Population included all adolescent girls and boys 13 to 19 years old in Qom in 1401 who 314 people were selected with using the convenience sampling method and response to the Family Environment Scale (Moos & Moos, 1976), Self-Construal Scale (Singelis, 1994), Social Responsibility Questionnaire (Ahmadi, 2009) and Social Trust Questionnaire (Saffarinia & Sharif, 2013). Pearson correlation and multiple regression by installing Hayes macro-Process (model 4) in SPSS24 were used to analyze the data.
Findings showed that family cohesion is positively and significantly related to social responsibility, interdependent self-construal and social trust, and interdependent self-construal and social trust are also positively and significantly related to social responsibility. Bootstrap analysis showed that interdependent self-construal and social trust significantly mediate the relationship between family cohesion with social responsibility.
These findings can be used to design an on-time intervention to promoting social responsibility among the adolescents.
